Between 2005 and 2008 I created over 1,400 black and white, digitally rendered drawings on a computer. The potential for ambiguity provided by the black and white palette, as well as the fluid scalability of the digital media, mimicked the changing perspectives of my own thought as the drawn images came into focus. Entitled Rickety, the series was output on letter-size paper from a laser printer. Their accumulation revealed to me a shifting landscape populated with wandering inhabitants, mutated plant and animal forms, a sense of repressed sexuality, diagrams, maps, organs and abstracted language.
